Dear parents,

Today:

·         Mme Phipps led a visualization activity in the gym after the assembly.

·         We worked on increasing the length of our writing projects by using an idea web to brainstorm.

·         We completed some outstanding work in ELA and did some word work.

·         We learned about how some minerals can be recycled and learned about aluminum.

·         We learned about how too much sugar can be harmful to your health.

 

Reminders:

·         Mission Fair is next Monday.

·         We participated in an Education Week QR code scavenger hunt.

·         We discussed the gifts that God has given us in our lives.

·         ELA – Healthy Minerals (Stile)

 

Today:

·         Students received Bibles at our Bible celebration led by Mme Cey.

·         We went to Phys. Ed. with M. Nadon.

·         Students completed a research activity about healthy minerals in ELA.

·         We discussed, took notes and answered questions about the Mohs’ scale of mineral hardness.

·         The class is presenting a Thanksgiving liturgy Friday at 2pm.  Parents are welcome to attend.

Dear parents,

Today:

·         We finished some work in French.

·         We read a new selection in ELA and learned about the compare and contrast writing style.

·         Students went to Arts. Ed. with M. Mitchell and Phys. Ed. with M. Nadon.

·         We created our own customized versions of the Canada Food Guide online.

·         We led visualization activities with the grade 1 class.

·         The students each brought home a paper grocery bag to fill with non-perishable donations for the FCC food drive.

·         Our Bible celebration is tomorrow at 10:30 in the music room.

·         School pictures are Thursday.

·         The class is presenting a Thanksgiving liturgy Friday at 2:00.

·         There is no school Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Dear parents,

Homework: 

·         If possible, students are to complete all outstanding activities within the Numbers strand in Mathletics.

 

Today:

·         We recognized the harmful effects of residential schools by participating in Orange Shirt Day.  Elder Gerry Stonechild spoke to the students about his experiences in a residential school.

·         We started an English writing assignment and watched some videos about how to brainstorm and plan writing.

·         We worked on completing some outstanding work on Stile and Mathletics.

o   Stile is a learning management portal that I discovered at a conference a few years ago.  We are using it because it has many practical and instructional benefits that will enhance the learning in our classroom.  We are still doing many handwritten activities throughout the week as well.  If you have any questions about Stile, please be sure to let me know.

·         We participated in the school’s Terry Fox run this afternoon.

 

Reminders:

·         School photos are Thursday.

·         The students will be receiving their own Bibles at a celebration on Tuesday.  The celebration starts at 10:30 am and all parents are welcome to attend.  Students are welcome to bring a snack for the class.

·         Our class will be leading the Thanksgiving celebration on Friday at 2:00 pm. Parents are invited to attend.
