January 9th


  • We listened to French music to start a music appreciation project.

  • We worked on 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication and adding and subtracting fractions.

  • Grade 6 students started designing menus for the International Space Station and grade 7 students researched the Mystery of Oak Island




  • I will be making pancakes for the class tomorrow morning to celebrate the New Year.

  • Students can bring a beverage (E.g. Starbucks, Tim Hortons) to class in the morning if they are able.

Dear parents,

I’ve sent home Scholastic order forms today.  If you wish to purchase books, the class will receive credits that we will spend to enhance our classroom library.   I’ve included links to the online flyers, which include instructions for ordering online.

We’re Back!

We had a great first day of 2020.  Grade 6 students did a math check in, the results have been sent home.  Bring them back for Boyer Bucks! Grade 7 will do the same later this week. 

Advent Celebration Reminder

Just a reminder that our Advent celebration is tonight at Hillcrest Church.  Doors open at 6:00.  Please have your child dress in white, brown, grey or black, and have a mouse nose and whiskers painted in black.

  • We started a residential schools class research project.

  • We started math assessments for divisibility (gr. 7) and factors (gr. 6)

  • We started discussing mysteries (gr. 7) and the International Space Station (gr. 6)


Assignments due:

  • Autobiographies (gr. 6 and 7) – Parents will be notified this afternoon about who has outstanding work.

  • Mme Lind’s animal project – Wednesday (gr. 6)


This week:

  • Students will be participating in the sacrament of Reconciliation on Wednesday.

  • The Vanier band will be performing for the school on Friday.
