I hope this letter finds you well. I'm Clayton Boyer, your child's Grade 7 teacher at École St. Margaret. It's a pleasure to introduce myself and share key information about our classroom:

1. Inclusive Learning: I'm deeply committed to creating a learning environment where every student can succeed. We will foster a classroom culture that values diversity, respect, and support for one another.

2. Celebrating Diverse Cultures: Our classroom is a rich tapestry of cultures, and I believe in acknowledging and celebrating this diversity. Throughout the school year, we'll embark on a journey to explore and appreciate the beauty of different traditions and expressions. We'll have special activities and projects that honor and showcase the various cultures represented in our class.

3. Métis Heritage: As a proud Métis educator, I bring a unique perspective to our classroom. My goal is to infuse Indigenous perspectives into our learning journey. We will explore Indigenous cultures and heritage, celebrating the richness they bring to our collective experience.

4. Catholic Education: In the spirit of Catholic education, we will emphasize values such as compassion, kindness, and empathy. Our classroom will be a place where we embrace these principles, fostering a sense of responsibility and ethical growth in our students.

5. French Immersion: Our classroom is a French Immersion environment, providing an exceptional opportunity for your child to become proficient in both official languages of Canada. We'll explore the French language and culture, opening doors to a world of opportunities and understanding.

6. Minimizing Distractions: I understand firsthand the challenges of distractions in a classroom setting, as I am diagnosed with ADHD. To support your child's focus and learning, we will implement strategies to minimize distractions and create a productive learning environment. This includes structured routines, clear expectations, and proactive communication.

7. 3D Printing Adventures: Our classroom is equipped with two 3D printers, which will play a significant role in hands-on learning experiences. Using the user-friendly Tinkercad platform, students will have the opportunity to design 3D models, turning their imaginative ideas into tangible objects. This technology enhances problem-solving skills and fosters innovation.

8. Communication: For quick updates, please use Edsby for matters like illness notifications, late arrivals, homework questions, and more. Additionally, our classroom website, www.mrboyer.ca, will provide daily summaries and important announcements.

9. Positive Behavior Reinforcement: We'll be using Classcraft, an engaging tool that promotes positive behavior, teamwork, and collaboration. While addressing negative behaviors when needed, my primary focus is on celebrating our classroom achievements. Fun tools like random events, name pickers, and the noise meter will keep our learning environment lively.

10. Innovative Learning: To enrich our curriculum, we'll be incorporating Minecraft: Education Edition, which offers an immersive and creative learning experience, enhancing critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

11. Ongoing Learning: I'm currently working towards a master's degree in Indigenous Education from the First Nations University of Canada. This academic pursuit allows me to continuously integrate Indigenous perspectives into our learning journey.
